WHAT AM I GETTING?

With SERVES, you are getting delicious nutritious meals that the whole family will love. Each meal comes in an authentic ceramic dish that you can bring to the table with pride.

IS SERVES SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS?

We want to make mealtime simple for everyone. So, we are working on developing a number of vegetarian and vegan friendly dishes – these will be available shortly.

DO YOU CHANGE THE MENU?

We have a selection of classic meals that are available every week. That way your favourite will always be there for you. In addition we’ll advertise certain dishes for certain weeks. These will appear in the menu for those weeks only. We’ll add these special dishes based around things happening in the calendar.

HOW DO I COOK MY MEALS?

Each meal comes with its own instructions and although each one is different, none require any more effort than popping them in the oven for 30 minutes or so. Then, simply sit back, relax and let the ‘just baked’ scent fill your home.

WILL I RECEIVE A FULLY COOKED MEAL?

The meat and the fish components are always fully cooked, however some of our meals have fresh toppings that need cooking in your oven to get that truly homemade taste.

CAN I MICROWAVE YOUR MEALS?

Our meals need to go into the oven – do you microwave family meals when you make them at home yourself ? … we don’t either.

CAN I HEAT FROM FROZEN?

Please defrost the dish thoroughly before cooking in the oven.

IS THE FOOD MADE FRESH?

Yes, to keep our meals fresh on the morning of delivery, we cook them to order – just like a home cook.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR MEAT, POULTRY AND SEAFOOD?

We care about where our food comes from - especially our meat, poultry and seafood. We source only the best high quality ingredients from responsible farmers that we know and trust. We get our seafood and meat from Springbok Butchery.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE INGREDIENTS, ALLERGENS AND NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION?

Each ceramic dish comes with a small sleeve that contains cooking instructions, ingredients list, allergens and nutritional information. The details about each dish are also listed in the app.

DO YOU USE PRESERVATIVES?

Absolutely not. Just like a home cook, we don’t add any preservative or additives to our meals, just the kind of delicious fresh ingredients you know and love. You won’t find anything in our kitchen cupboards that you don’t have ay home.

+ Freezing and Storage

CAN I FREEZE MY MEALS?

All the meals are best served fresh but they do freeze. Our meals are made in the same way you would at home so bear that in mind when freezing and defrosting them – some foods do freeze better than others! Of course, if you wish to freeze your meals we would suggest popping them in the freezer as soon as they are delivered. This way, when you defrost a meal, it will be just as fresh as it was on the day it was delivered – which is the day we made it for you.

CAN I HEAT FROM FROZEN?

Please defrost the dish thoroughly before cooking in the oven.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THE FOOD FOR IN THE FRIDGE?

To keep our food wholesome and honest, we don’t use any preservatives, and we prepare the food just like you would at home. Because of this we would suggest keeping your meals in the fridge for no longer than three days.

WHY DO YOU USE CERAMIC DISHES?

Our ceramic dishes are part of the dining experience. You can pop them in the oven, they don’t taint the flavour of the food and they are just the kind of thing you can be proud to serve your family and friends – plus they’re environmentally friendly … we hate plastic and believe in reusing wherever and whenever we can.

CAN I KEEP MY CERAMIC DISHES?

No, sorry! While our ceramic dishes are reusable, making them great for the environment, we ask that you simply wash the dish when you’re finished and swap it for a full one on your next delivery.

WHAT IS ‘WHAT 3 WORDS'?

What 3 Words is an innovative company that has given a 3 word reference to every 3*3m grid across the globe. SERVES has used their addressing system as it is an innovative way to communicate an exact location without having to ‘send a pin’, share GPS coordinates or work with landmarks.

Use the map that launches in the app to find your villa / delivery location and SERVES then stores the What 3 Words reference. You can also give friends your What 3 Words and you can be assured we will deliver your food to their address – if that’s what you want !

CAN I ADD MORE THAN 1 ADDRESS?

Yes – you can add multiple addresses – make deliveries easy by having friends help take deliveries for you.

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICE AREAS?

We have had to limit where we deliver to. We call these service areas. If you cannot see your area listed then it may be that we can not deliver to you for the moment.

+Ordering

HOW DOES THE ORDERING SYSTEM WORK?

Every week we cook up a wide range of delicious family meals. If you place your order before 7pm on Thursday we will send it out for delivery on the day(s) we deliver to your compound the following week. In this way you know what meals you have coming out to you and can avoid grocery shopping at the weekend.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER AND GET A REFUND?

You can cancel up until the time the order is sent to the kitchen. Orders are sent to the kitchen at Thursday midnight the week before your order is due. If you paid by credit card then the refund will be processed back via the same payment method you used - please allow up to 45 days for the transfer refund to be completed.

+Payments

HOW CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT?

You can make payments via credit card in the app (Visa and MasterCard) and you can also select cash on delivery method. If you make payment via credit card then you will get an immediate confirmation in the app that the payment was successful, you will also get confirmation via email within a few minutes.

CAN I USE APPLE PAY?

Not yet .. but watch this space - it is coming soon.

+Deliveries

WHY DO YOU NOT DELIVER TO MY COMPOUND?

We only deliver to compounds that have expressed an interest in the service. If your compound is eager to make more of mealtimes with SERVES, please get in touch.

WHY DO YOU NOT DELIVER ‘ON DEMAND’ LIKE A TAKEAWAY SERVICE?

We are NOT a fast food service. We are a fresh home-cooked meals business that enables parents to think about their weekly meal planning in advance of the week to avoid the time, cost and wastage involved with shopping and cooking at home.

DO I HAVE TO BE IN TO TAKE DELIVERY?

We recommend that someone can take delivery however, at your risk, we can leave your dish in a chiller box that you leave on your door step, but please let our customer service team know in advance.

CAN I DELIVER TO A FRIEND?

Yes. Just add your friend's address in as an address in your profile on our app. They will need to be in a compound that we deliver to. Then select this other address at the point of check out.

CAN I GIVE YOU MY DOMESTIC HELPER'S CONTACT INFORMATION TO ORGANISE DELIVERY?

Yes. Just add whoever you would like us to contact about the delivery as a ‘Point of Contact’(POC) in your settings. Then select this POC at the point of check out.

WHEN WILL MY DELIVERY ARRIVE?

Your delivery will arrive on the day confirmed to you in your order. The exact timing of the delivery depends on your delivery area - please see the website for specific delivery times in your area. We will contact you the day before if we anticipate delivery being outside this delivery time.

HOW DOES MY DELIVERY ARRIVE?

After cooking your meals on the morning of delivery we chill them and seal them. They are then kept chilled and transported to you in a chiller van.

IS THERE A DELIVERY CHARGE?

The standard delivery charge is 10 AED per delivery. This may be waived or reduced in accordance to offers available at the time.
